Specifications
The Sea Ray 27 is the boat in the fleet that gets described as “the nice one” — which is accurate but undersells what Sea Ray actually built here. This is a 27-foot cruiser with overnight capability: a cabin below, a head (bathroom), a galley with basics, and berths for two to four people depending on configuration. You can actually sleep on this boat, wake up in a cove somewhere between Fort Lauderdale and the Keys, make coffee, and be back underway before the day-trippers have finished their hotel breakfast.
Above deck it runs like a proper sport cruiser. The twin-engine setup gives redundancy and maneuverability that single-engine boats this size cannot match, particularly in tight marina situations. The helm station is comfortable for long days and the electronics are current. We run this vessel from Fort Lauderdale and Miami — both putting you within easy range of the offshore reef line, the Bahama Banks crossing, and the upper Keys overnight run.
For multi-day customers who want the full liveaboard experience without chartering a yacht, this is the practical answer. It is a well-maintained, properly equipped 27-foot cruiser that does what the category is supposed to do, at a price point that makes a week on the water achievable. If you want more cabin space and a hardtop for shade on the longer coastal runs, also consider the Sea Senora express cruiser, which runs a 28-foot express layout with more interior volume and a different cockpit arrangement suited to groups of up to eight. For context on what serious extended cruising in South Florida actually looks like at the top end, our piece on what the Westport Dream Weaver sale tells us about this market is worth reading before you plan a longer trip.
This boat books further in advance than most — if you are planning a specific trip, reach out early. Our multi-day boat rental rates are structured for extended coastal runs, not single-day hops. All twelve boats in the fleet are on the fleet page with availability and specs.
